I’m Hedda Heß – a clinical psychologist, alternative practitioner specializing in psychotherapy, and registered child and adolescent psychotherapist with 10 years of experience in hypnosis. I’ve been seeing clients in my own practice in Berlin since the summer of 2025.
I was born in Berlin in 1995 as the second of three children. By the age of 13, I’d made up my mind: I would become a psychotherapist. Why? Because I found having conversations with people to be a profoundly moving experience. Because conflict at home had helped me develop a finely tuned sense of emotional states. Because people found it easy to open themselves up to me. And – to be perfectly honest – at that time, I was convinced that I didn’t have the skills for much else.
I first heard about hypnosis when I was 15. As soon as I turned 18, I started a training program – and realized very quickly: this is the method for me. I was captivated – by the emotional depths, the creative imagery, the effectiveness and the sheer limitless possibilities. I initially worked in hypno-coaching alongside my studies. After obtaining my license as an alternative practitioner specializing in psychotherapy, I began working as a hypno-therapist.
Maintaining and improving the quality of my work over the long term has always been important to me. That’s why I pursued a license to practice as a behavioral therapist for children and adolescents alongside ongoing self-employment, completing it after 5.5 years. This training program included, among other components, one year of clinical experience in the Fontane Klinik and three years in an outpatient setting.
I completed my couples therapy training alongside my partner – simply because we were both interested in continuing our education together. At the time, we had no idea that a collaboration would emerge from it. Nor could I ever have imagined that I would one day wind up on Funk (the youth radio station run by ARD and ZDF). Since 2025, I’ve been appearing on “Das letzte Gespräch?” as a psychological conflict mediator. What I find so special about it is that I get to provide direct support to those in conflict – and at the same time, thousands of people can watch and take something away for their own relationships. That’s such a tremendous gift.
After 10 years of studying and training alongside self-employment, I founded my own practice in the summer of 2025. I’m still deeply touched by the fact that I have exceeded my professional aspirations – and that everyday I get to accompany people as they move closer to their deepest desires and goals.

In order to shed light on the effects of hypnotherapy from a scientific perspective, as part of my Master’s thesis I undertook a quantitative study to investigate the impact of hypnotherapy on resilience, empowerment and well-being. The results showed that these interventions had a significant impact on all three areas.
Hypnosis has been used as a therapeutic method for more than 250 years – and is therefore at the forefront of all modern psychotherapy. I find working with it to be incredibly rewarding: my day-to-day work involves facilitating efficient, profound and sometimes surprising changes.
In the past, the prevailing view in psychotherapy was that the therapist was a blank slate: a projection screen that withdrew into the background. Freud helped shape this approach in the 19th and early 20th century – at a time when social hierarchies were a given.
Since then, our society has changed significantly – and psychotherapy has changed with it. Various schools of thought have developed: behavioral therapy, systemic therapy, depth psychology, Gestalt therapy and many more. Flat hierarchies, personal self-disclosure and informal address are now typical in many therapeutic contexts.
And one important insight has caught on: therapists are not the ultimate healers. They support the healing process. One of the key factors in the success of therapy is not the method – but the therapeutic relationship. The stronger that relationship is, the more each treatment can flourish.
Nevertheless, the fact remains that, for certain issues and depending on the individual, some methods can be more suitable than others at a particular point in time. That’s precisely why I work across multiple methods.
In my work, I support you with empathy, respect and openness. I see myself as a guide: I draw your attention to signposts, point out interesting doors – and potential pitfalls. I explain steps that are new to you. Together, we will clear away the obstacles that the past placed in your path.
And I’ll give you the tools you need – so that, in the future, you can continue on your path, even without my help.
I will help you find your own answers – with respect for your own personal development process.
Together with your subconscious mind, we’ll develop strategies that are right for you and address your specific concerns in a lasting and profound way.
My aim is to create a space in which you can freely express and feel what you’ve been trying so hard to keep hidden beneath the surface.
I won’t carry you to your goal. And I won’t take credit for the success you achieve through courage, strength and self-care. I will celebrate you – for the journey you are on.
Since 2025, I’ve been working as a psychological conflict mediator on the program “Das letzte Gespräch?” (Funk, ARD/ZDF). Anyone who would like to get a first impression of me – how I speak, how I think, how I mediate conflict situations – can do so by watching these videos on YouTube. It’s a rare sort of opportunity to see a therapist at work.
